Las Menina’s Picasso in the Barcelona Museum

The Picasso Museum in Barcelona is a wonderful journey into the universe of Picasso.
Immersed in his own universe, Picasso has always tried to find inspiration in the works of the great artist of history. The research period culminated in the elaboration of his own style characterized by unique rhythm, shape and colors. The art creative process became his style today recognized all over the world. In this painting Picasso reinterprets Las Meninas by Velázquez. To the figures that Velázquez used to compose the scene, PIcasso uses another one not present in the original painting: the piano. To a journalist's question about the reason for this addition, Picasso replies: "when I went to see the painting I thought that a piano would have been fine. So I added it".
